I have something of a pressing concern: i’m friends with my dad on facebook (BAD IDEA) and he just liked and commented on a picture his sister-in-law, my aunt, posted. the picyure shows someone who appears to be a woman of color from the back. off to the side, her shadow on the ground appears to have a phallus, probably because of the placement of her hand or something. lots of folks are laughing at this, because trans women are fuckin’ hilarious.

my question: do I go off on them? my aunt, my dad, and a bunch of strangers? silence is tantamount to oppression, but these people have just recently tried to support my coming out. what are constructive ways to point out hypocrisy, transmysoginy, and racism?
